Moodabidri , Mar 23, 2018 : Two persons  who had been to Karinje Hill for trekking were found dead on March 22,Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Gratian Rodrigues (34), an entrepreneur, and his friend Praveen Tauro (32), a resident of Karinje Kakkebettu.

Both had left in a Red Bolero vehicle  but did not return even after  two days following which their families have informed the police. After an intense search operation, the bodies were found among dense shrubbery in Karinja.


As there is no proof of wild animal attack, it is suspected that they might have died due to electrocution as some people use electric fencing to prevent wild animals from causing crop loss.

A case has been registered at Moodbidri police station.
