Mangalore, June 4, 2014: India meteorological reports on June 3, appear to give relief to south west coast. Spells of pre-monsoon showers across southern peninsula in recent days says the regional meteorological department is good sign that the southwest monsoon may arrive in the state within the next 48 hours.


monsoon 1“Conditions are favourable for the onset of SW monsoon over Kerala during the next 48 hours,” it said in its  bulletin. Also predicted are heavy rainfall in the excess of 7 cm at isolated places, along SW coast over the next two days.


Spells of premonsoon showers continued June 3, with parts recording heavy rainfall.

Against the backdrop of predictions of strong winds along the west coast on June 4, weathermen have advised fishermen to avoid venturing out to sea.
