Mangaluru, June 12, 2016 : K N Somashekhar of Paschima Ghatta Samrakshana Samithi has accused former union minister Veerappa Moily and Yettinahole Project Superintendent Engineer Venugopal of misleading people by stating that all hurdles in the way of the implementation of the project have been cleared. He also warned that contempt case would be filed against them if they did not apologise within 15 days.
Speaking to reporters here on June 11, Saturday he said three petitions regarding the Yettinahole Project are still pending with the South Zone of the National Green Tribunal and that the court has not issued any order in favour of the project. He said the petitions filed by Purushottam Chitrapur of Mangaluru, Kishore Kumar of Hassan and Yatiraj of Tumkur are still pending and that the hearing is fixed on July 4. When the cases pertaining to the project are before the Tribunal, saying that all hurdles are cleared is tantamount to contempt of court, he said adding a lawyer notice has already been served to both Moily and Somashekhar.
Dinesh Holla of Sahyadri Samrakshana Sanchaya, Shashidhar Shetty and Kateel Dinesh Pai were present at the press meet.
