Mangalore, Jul 16, 2013: Senior Congress leader and former union minister B Janardhana Poojary said that Gujarat CM Narendra Modi will never become the Prime Minister of the country in his life time.
Speaking at the press meet held at District Congress Office on July 16, Tuesday, he said that the people of the nation will be at the receiving end if Modi became the PM. Modi is a Sardar of lies and it would be a mistake to project him as a Prime Ministerial candidate, Poojary said.
Criticizing the statement made by Modi during a recent interview, Poojary said that he has interlinked 2002 Gujarat riots with a puppy. This statement clearly shows that he was making a reference to the Muslim community, Poojary observed.
During the riots, when thousands of Muslim men, women and children were killed, Modi was sad over the puppy coming under the car tyres and not over those who had died in the riots, Poojari said adding it would have been Modi himself who was driving the car then.
On this occasion, Poojary also pointed out that even the Supreme Court had rejected the Special Investigation Report which gave Modi a clean chit in Gujarat riots.
Congress members Sadashiv Ullal, Harikrishna Bantwal, Kallige Tharanath Shetty, Arun Coelho and others were present.
