Missing girl returns ; complains that she was abducted, raped

Kundapur, Aug 25,2016 : A 20 year old girl from Kollur Yalur who was earlier reported missing, has now returned home and is suspected to have been raped. The girl who has been taken ill has lodged a complaint with the police on August 24, alleging that she has been raped.
In this connection, the police have detained a person named Rajeev (30) of Kollur. It is alleged that the accused had offered a drop to the girl who was waiting for the bus at Kundapur, in his Swift car. However, the accused instead of dropping the girl at her destination had driven the car towards Udupi where he took her to a lodge and reportedly raped her all through the night. He had also reportedly threatened the girl of dire consequences if she divulged the matter before anyone and had dropped her at Kundapur on Tuesday morning.
It is learnt, the girl who is in hospital is presently recovering. Investigations are underway.
