Missing girl Shwetha’s skeleton remains discovered near Surathkal

Surathkal: September 5, 2015: The skeleton remains of a young girl who was missing since June 26 was found in the bushes near Surathkal on Friday, September 4.

The deceased has been identified as Shwetha (25) daughter of Sundari, from Adyapady.

According to the sources, the girl had gone to her uncle’s house located at Chelar on June 25. The next day, Shewtha had gone for work but did not return home.

The family member then registered a missing complaint at Kavoor Police station. The police began their investigation but could not trace her.


On September 4, when some of the locals went to collect leaves for the preparation of Krishna Janmastami, they found a human skull and bone scattered on the ground and also a shawl tied to a tree.

At a nearby distance, they found a bag with her identity card and other documents. Soon the locals informed to the Suratkal police who immediately arrived at the spot and started the investigation.

The police inspecting her identity card, perceived that the skeleton remains is of Shwetha, who had been missing since June 26, 2015.

The police started their investigation to find the reason behind her death.
