Mangaluru, Jan 2 , 2017 : In a suspected case of murder, a  youth from Kilenjur near Kinnigoli who was missing  since December 28 has been found dead  in a forest area behind the Niddodi church on January 1, Sunday.


murder The deceased is Umesh Shetty (29). Umesh who was the son of Prabhavathi and Ramakrishna couple,  went missing after he alighted from a bus at Pakshikere and  boarded a white Maruti Swift car  on December 28.  After a futile search, his family had lodged a missing complaint at Mulki police station.

 Umesh who  was staying in Mumbai in the past had returned hometown  three years ago and since then  was involved in a transport business at Panambur on partnership basis. He used to travel to his workplace by bus everyday.

Umesh Shetty’s purse which was found by an NRI family on  December 30, had provided clue to the place where his body was found. It is learnt that the NRI family had tried to locate Umesh   using the information found in his purse and had sent him a Facebook friend request. However as there was no response from Umesh and  as the family had to go abroad, they left the purse with a relative.  Umesh’s body  was found near the place where the purse was found.

Umesh was known to be a youth with good conduct and reports say he used to tell his friends that he intended to start quarry business.

Investigations are underway.
