Minor rape case: One of the accused flees to Dubai?

Bantwal, May 5, 2014: With the police investigating into the case of alleged rape of a minor girl by two men, still failing to arrest the accused, there is information that   one of the accused has fled to Dubai, while the other man too is planning to follow him.

It may be recalled here that the girl hailing from Kolpe in Idkidu near Vittal, a ninth standard student was lured, taken in a car  to Madikeri and then raped there by two men. The incident is learnt to have taken place on April 18.

Sources say Bakkuta Basheer of Bobbekeri, one of the accused has already fled  to Dubai where he was working earlier.

Meanwhile, the third accused Jabbar of Karyady who is  facing charges of threatening the girl of throwing acid on her face, too is making arrangements to leave the nation. Such an allegation has now come from the family of the victim girl.

On the other hand, Radhukatte Basheer, the second accused in the case is unlikely to follow them as he reportedly has no passport and is wanted in bike theft cases.

But, the Vittal police are not ready to accept that  one of the accused had fled to Dubai. He maintains that search is on for the accused. The relatives of the girl have already requested the police to seize the passport of Jabbar.
