Minister states KSRTC to introduce city services all over Karnataka

Puttur, Nov 10, 2014: Media reports say that Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy on November 7, Saturday said the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) would focus on improving transport facilities in rural areas.

Ramalinga Redd.. Speaking after laying the foundation stone for a bus depot at Sullia near here, Reddy said making profit was not the sole motto of the corporation — discharging its social obligation too was the corporation’s top priority.

Reddy said the KSRTC would operate more buses in areas where people solely depended on its bus services for commuting. The corporation would commence city bus services in all district headquarters and other cities. He said only the southern part of the country had a good public transport system. The public sentiments will be valued and needed bus facilities will be introduced the private operators force not withstanding.
