Minister Sorake inaugurates Congress Padayatra in Udupi

Udupi,Mar 16, 2014:  Udupi District in-charge Minister Vinaykumar Sorake inaugurated a Padayatra organised by the district unit of the Congress   in front of the  party office at Brahmagiri on March 15, Saturday. The Congress also organised Padayatra in Kaup, Karkala and Kundapur.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the sitting Congress MP from Udupi has done remarkable works during his two year tenure and   added the already taken up works will be completed  with right earnestness if he is given another chance to represent the constituency.

Sorake also claimed that the state Congress government has already implemented 95 out of its 168 assurances. Sitting MP Jayaprakash Hegde also has the credit  of securing highest grants for his constituency, he said.

Sorake further  ridiculed  BJP candidate Shobha Karandlaje  for asking voters to elect her to ensure protection of women. “Where was Shobha when the Padmapriya death case, Renukacharya and Halappa episodes as well as pub and homestay attacks took place. Why didn’t she quit her ministerhip and fight for the protection of women then, he questioned.

Udupi Block Congress President and local MLA Pramod Madhwaraj also spoke.

Padayatras were also held at Brahmavar and Kaup. Several party leaders and workers participated in the padayatra.
