Mangaluru, Feb 12, 2020: A district level Stree Shakti Convention organised at Kudmul Rangarao Town Hall on February 12, Wednesday was inaugurated by State Minister for Women and Child Development Shashikala A Jolle.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister hailed the Stree Shakti organisations in DK District which have registered 100 percent progress in loan repayment. She was also appreciative of the transparency in the functioning of Anganavadis in the district.
Pointing out that the Poshan Abhiyan, an ambitious scheme of the Union Government aimed at the welfare of Anganavadi children and pregnant women was not yet implemented in the state, she said Anganavadi workers would soon get smart phones under the scheme for real-time monitoring of the health of Anganavadi children and pregnant women along with the activities in the centres.
DK District in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, said the society can progress when women are organised and empowered.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLAs Vedavyas Kamath, U T Khader, National Commission for Women Member Shyamala Kunder, ZP Chief Meenakshi Shantigodu, ZP Vice President Kasturi Panja, Tulu Academy Chief Dayanand Kattalsar, District Stree Shakti Okkoota President Mamatha, Women and Child Development Department Director Usman and others were present.
