Mangaluru , Aug 14, 2017 : DK District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai has justified the state government action of withdrawing aid under Kollur Temple’s adoption scheme to the Sri Rama Vidya Kendra of Kalladka and Punacha school managed by RSS leader Kalladka Prabhaker Bhat.
Speaking to reporters here, Rai said both the schools are already aided. He alleged that the erstwhile government had sanctioned the grants by flouting the rule. Rai alleged that the grants are secured from the Temple under the adoption scheme to misuse them.
"Though the government was providing all facilities including mid-day meals to students, the students of Sri Rama Vidya Kendra were denied the same," he alleged.
Stating that Kalladka Bhat had given in writing that he would not avail mid-day meals for his institution, Rai said he would provide mid-day meals to the students of the school and ensure that Kalladka Bhat gave in writing that his school children needed mid-day meal.
Asked if there was any evidence to prove that the grants were misused, Rai shot back and said if that was not the case, why would have the school denied mid-day meals from the government.
DCC Chief Harish Kumar, MLAs J R Lobo and Moidin Bava were also present.

I do not understand what actually is the problem here. Is it a question of just mid-day meal or some thing else? If a school denies mid day meals first because it felt that it has adequate funding and then comes back requesting mid day meals, does it imply any wrong doing? Donors might have decided not to fund. Mystery is deepening. |
