Mangaluru, Feb 06, 2024: State Minister for Forests and Environment Eshwar B Khandre has issued strict instructions to the Forest Officials to ensure precautionary measures against forest fires during summer season.
He was speaking after watching a wild fire extinguishing mock drill in the forest area near Kukke Subrahmanya on Monday.
The minister said scarcity of rainfall has resulted in water problem and also the fear of forest fires. He directed forest officials to keep a strict eye on forest areas.
The Minister also visited the Salumarada Thimmakka garden and watched a play on forest conservation. He later exhorted students to protect environment.
