Milagres Church shares Christmas joy with kids at Wenlock

Mangalore, Dec 23, 2013: Milagres Church celebrated Christmas with the  poor and sick kids at the Paediatric Wing of Wenlock Hospital   on Dec 22, Sunday. The programme was inaugurated by Dr Rajeshwari Devi by cutting the X’mas cake.

Fr Valerian. Parish Priest of Milagres Church, who spoke on the occasion said “We are all children of God and have the responsibility of leading a life of peace and harmony thereby promoting brotherhood.”He also said that the inspirational preachings of Jesus Christ sh0ould be followed by each and everyone.

Eminent paediatrician Dr Shantharam Baliga said that  it has been a very beautiful evening for the kids. Pointing out that the RAPCC at the Hospital has  helped in saving  the lives of thousands of children, he also said that  infant mortality rate among new borns has reduced  drastically  in Mangalore and neighbouring districts. If the death ratio was 47 for every 1000 new borns in the nation, it was only 10 in Dakshina Kannada, he informed and attributed the same to the hardwork of doctors and staff members of RAPCC of Wenlock Hospital and the Lady Goshen hospital.

Anitha Pinto, Office staff thanked all the dignitaries and donors. Meera Pinto compered the programme.

Alwyn Rosario, Vice President, Parish Pastoral council and Norma, convener of X’mas celebration were also present.

A variety of cultural programmes were presented by children on the occasion.
