Mere competitions should not be the aim of sports

Kundapur, Mar 12, 2019: Participation in sports will motivate and expose individuals to different aspects of  life in society,  Entrepreneur Jayananda Kharvi said.  “Just participation in sports also helps in the physical and mental development of individuals which will help them face life better,” Kharvi said while inaugurating the inter-college College Staff Sports Meet held at Dr B B Hegde First Grade college.

 

The sports meet was jointly organised by Department of Physical Education, Mangalore University and Dr B B Hegde First Grade college.

Director of Department of Physical Education, Mangalore University, Dr Kishore Kumar C K said the sports should not be restricted to mere competitions.

“Sports should strengthen relationships and help individuals enjoy life,” he stressed.

College Director Prof Doma Chandrashekar presided over the programme. Head of Commerce department Rajesh Shetty and others were also present.
