Mangalore, Sep 23, 2014:According to information, ‘Nammavaru’ Vipra Koota, Mangalore, will exhibit Dasara dolls from September 25 to October 4 at Sharavu Sri Mahaganapathy Temple in Mangalore. Addressing mediapersons here on Sept 22, Nammavaru Vipra Koota Organising Secretary M S Gururaj said that the arrangement of Dasara dolls will comprise of around 1000 dolls. The Dasara dolls exhibition is a religious practice and the dolls will be installed and worshipped at the venue.
The inauguration of the dolls exhibition will be made by Sharavu Sri Mahaganapathy Temple Administrator Sharavu Raghavendra Shastry on September 25 at 5.30 pm. The exhibition will be open to people, he said and added that this time, the main attraction of the occasion will be the arrangements of dolls on the theme ‘Bhrahmotsava’ celebrations observed in Tirumala Tirupati Temple.
Other than this, there will be dolls of various Gods Ganesha, Vishnu, Shiva, Krishna and also the divine occasions of Srinivasa Kalyana, Kalinga Mardana, Geetopadesha and the like.
The exhibition will also include dolls depicting various cultural proceedings like Dasara procession, classical arts, car festival etc. There will be the dolls of King and queen, Acharya Trinity, rural life and so on.
As a part of the exhibition, cultural programmes will be held on all the days between 6.30 pm and 8.30 pm, Gururaj said. He added that the tradition of Dasara dolls exhibition is being followed by the Vipra Koota from the last 17 years and around 150 families will participate.
