Massive fire at Pachanady waste dumping yard brought under control

Mangaluru, Jan 24, 2019: A massive fire that broke out at the Pachanady waste dumping yard on the outskirts of the city on January 23, Wednesday afternoon, was brought under control by the fire service personnel only on Thursday morning after several hours of struggle.
The fire was first noticed at around 2 pm on Wednesday. By evening the fire had spread with flames rising high and the whole area engulfed in thick smoke causing untold hardship to local residents.
