Mangalore, Jan 6, 2014: The driver of a Maruti Omni sustained serious injuries when his vehicle was  hit by a lorry  near the Baikampady Junction on the NH 66 during the wee hours of  January 5, Sunday.

It is learnt, the Maruti Omni vehicle was heading towards Mangalore from Udupi. The locals who rushed to the spot admitted the injured driver to the hospital.

Meanwhile, the lorry driver has fled the spot of the accident. The accident disrupted traffic on the route for some time.
