Manipal student gangrape: Condition of main accused remains critical

Bangalore, June 29, 2013: The condition of the main accused in the Manipal yogish 1student gangrape case, who allegedly attempted suicide, remains critical. Yogesh Poojary has been put on ventilator support.


Meanwhile, the condition of second accused Anand who was nabbed from Badagubettu, Parkala near Udupi, while he was allegedly making an attempt to hang himself, is stable.


Both are being treated at the Kasturba Hospital in Manipal. Anand has been remanded to police custody for 5 days.

 

The breakthrough came as an accused Yogesh Shantappa Poojary, consumed poison and made a call to the Udupi Superintendent of Police’s office in the morning, confessing to his crime, IGP (Western Range) Pratap Reddy told reporters.
