Mangaluru, Nov 07, 2016: KPCC President and State Home Minister G Parameshwar informed that, Congress convention will be held at Nehru Maidan on November 19 to mark Former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s anniversary.
Addressing media at Circuit House on November 07,Monday he said that, in this convention party workers of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Kodagu, Shivamogga, Uttar Kannada districts will take part. National Leaders of Congress party including Digvijay Singh, Chief Minister Siddarammaih, Mallikarjun Kharge, Chella Kumar, Oscar Fernandes, Shantaram Naik will take part in his convention.
Many programs including Workshop, debates will be organized at Schools and Colleges to create awareness about the program introduced by Indira Gandhi, he added.
When asked about MP Shobha Karandlaje accusation on Roshan Baig’s involvement in Rudresh murder and claimed that she has proof, Parameshwar said that in case she has proof then it’s better to hand over to police or else legal action will be taken against her.
When a murder occurs be it Congress worker ,BJP or RSS worker it will be dealt seriously without politicizing the issue and stringent action will be taken against the murderer, said Parameshwar.
Regarding to Tippu Jayanthi Celebration Parameshwar said that, those who interrupt governments program will be dealt seriously and action will be taken as per the law and order. We do not encourage any anti social elements to disturb the peace of the society.
To a question on hike in salaries of police personnel, the home minister said, "We have not given any time frame regarding hike in salary. But for the first time in the country we have formed a committee to study the economic status of officials and personnel as compared to those in other departments.
"The committee has submitted the report and the proposal District in Charge Minister Ramanath Rai, Health Minister UT Khader, Chief Whip of Legislative Council Ivan D Souza, Shakuntala Shetty, Ibrahim Kodijaal and others were present.
