Rev Msgr Maxim Noronha, Vicar General of the Diocese of Mangalore expressed deep anguish at the terror unleashed without mind killing innocent church worshippers and holiday crowd in hotels. More than three hundred were killed and around five hundred wounded, some critically. He hoped that all those killed in the terror act live on as all of them believed in death and resurrection. It can be recalled that people killed in the explosion had gathered to celebrate the Resurrection of of Christ from death on the cross.  The people stood in silence with lighted candles in hand for two minutes to pay respect for the victims. Rev J.B. Crasta prayed for the souls of victims and the wounded.

Rev Onil D’Souza the Director of Saint Anthony’s Ashram Jeppu welcomed the gathering. Adv M.P. Noronha the senior advocate and the Secretary of Diocesan Pastoral Parishad proposed the vote of thanks.   A sea of people participated and some were seen sobbing, indicative of the feelings of humans.

It was a spontaneous concern for the people and their kith and kin involved in unimaginable suffering as a result of this mindless act of terror which is beyond human understanding - only God can fathom, know and set right.
