Mangaluru, May 25,2017 : Sunil K, a resident of Moodushedde near Vamanjoor here is an Ola cab driver since the past two years. If one passes him off as like any other ordinary cab driver one is wrong. He stands apart from the rest of his tribe through his humane approach and selfless service which he was rendering silently until now but for a Facebook post by one of his customers. Today, Sunil is an internet sensation and the Facebook post on him made by his customer Kavya Rao of Ashoknagar has already received over 40,000 likes and comments.
On Tuesday, Kavya Rao of Ashoknagar had booked his cab online as she had to take her ailing father to the hospital. As suggested by Kavya and her mother he drops them at a leading hospital. The cab fare was Rs 140 and when Kavya’s mother handed over the amount, Sunil had politely refused. She was surprised and asked him to accept at least the petrol charges which too Sunil declined. When enquired Sunil said he offered free service to anyone who books his car to take a patient to hospital. He also reveals he has been offering this service silently in memory of his mother who passed away a few months ago.
Kavya on coming to know about this narrates his story and posts it on Facebook and the result is before everyone.
Sunil who has studied upto tenth standard was unaware of his internet fame until someone informed about him and many started calling him. He says he has received thousands of calls so far and is happy to know that people have recognised his service and are appreciating him.
