The new train would have an engine and three bogies. Minister for Women and Child Welfare Umashree during a meeting here last month announced that the government had sanctioned funds that would be released soon.

MLA Lobo said that a committee headed by the Chief Executive Officer of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat would take steps to acquire a new train. He suggested that officials visit Shivamogga to see a similar train in operation there and study the procurement details.

He also said that  he had released Rs. 35 lakh from his area development fund to install a  worthy gate to the park. The Horticulture Department, which was maintaining the park, could use its fund for other works such as planting more saplings, installing sprinklers and creating infrastructure facilities at the park.

Yogesh H.R., Deputy Director, Department of Horticulture, Dakshina Kannada, said that on old pump at Bendorewell water collection centre and treatment plant had been replaced with a new one to pump water to the park through an old pipeline. Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Drainage Board (KUWSDB) would construct a water storage tank at an estimated cost of Rs. 56 lakh. The tank would collect waste water generated during the treatment process and it would be pumped to the park through the existing old pipeline to ensure continuous water supply to the park, especially in summer.

MLA Lobo reiterated that there was a plan to create a park for differently abled children within Kadri Park.   MCC grants have been sought towards development of roads from Circuit House to Kadri park, adding that the park will be developed on the model of Nisargadhama. He said a musical fountain will be constructed at the old deer park at a cost of Rs 5 crore, within seven months.
