Mangaluru, Dec 16, 2018: Vijay Diwas was observed at the War Memorial at Kadri Hills here on December 16, Sunday to commemorate India’s win against Pakistan in the 1971 war. The programme was held under the aegis of the DK District Ex-servicemen’s Association, Lions Club international, Rotary International, Nitte Education Trust and Shasthavu Sri Bhoothanatheshwara Temple Trust.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil said the nation should always remember the sacrifices made by the valiant soldiers for the cause of their motherland.
SP Ravikanthe Gowda also spoke on the occasion.
City Police Commissioner T R Suresh, ZP CEO Dr Selvamani, MCC Commissioner Mohammad Nazeer, former MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik, Lions District Governor K Devadas Bhandary, Rotary District Governor Rohinath Pade, DK District Ex-Servicemen’s Association President Vikram Dutta and others paid tributes to martyrs on the occasion.
