Mangaluru: Upgraded DK Police Blog inaugurated

 Mangaluru, Oct 18, 2015 : The upgraded version of the Dakshina Kannada District Police Blog (http://dkpolice.blogspot.in/)  was launched on October 17, Saturday by District Superintendent of Police Dr Sharanappa. Even the Facebook and Twitter Pages of the DK Police were inaugurated on the occasion.

Speaking to media men on the occasion, the SP said  the main objective of the upgraded  Police blog as well as launching of the FB and Twitter pages was to bring the Police Department much closer with the masses.

He said the blog has information about police stations, officers crimes, road safety issues, Child Line RTI and Cyber Crime. He also stated that the blog will be updated twice a day.

The Facebook page can be used for better interaction, he said adding the Twitter Page will be  used to tweet about vital issues. The SP even hinted at the Department’s plans to have a Social Media Surveillance Cell in the district very soon.

 There are plans to install 60 more CCTV cameras at strategic locations in the district with the prime objective of solving crime cases, the SP said adding a proposal in this regard has been put forth before the District Administration. He also stated that 67  CCTV cameras which are already in place in different parts of the district had proved beneficial sin solving as many as 18 crime cases.
