Mangaluru, April 5, 2015 : Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan has stressed the need for each and every individual to be a part of a noble deed like the Swachch Bharat campaign.
He was speaking after inaugurating the 10th Swachch Bharath Campaign launched by the Ramakrishna Mission at Circuit House here on April 5, Sunday. He said everyone must consider it their duty to keep their city clean. He also urged the Ramakrishna Mutt authorities to continue the mission in the future too.
DK District Co-operative Milk Union President Raviraj Kodavoor presented a cheque for Rs 7 lakh to the minister towards relief for flood victims in Kashmir. He also informed that milk powder worth Rs 3 lakh has already been sent to the flood affected people of Kashmir.
Jithakamananda Swamiji of Ramakrishna Mission, Mangaluru, Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP, JR Lobo, MLA, Ganesh Karnik, MLC, Yogish Bhat, Krishna Palemar, Monappa Bhandari, former legislators were also present.
Minister visits Lady Goschen: The Union Minister of State for Petroleum later visited the Lady Goschen Hospital and inspected the ongoing works of the new block of the Hospital which is coming up with joint aid from MRPL and State Government. He attributed the delay in the works to the delay in releasing funds and assured that there would be no such problem henceforth.
AB Ibrahim, Deputy Commissioner, Dr Shakuntala, Medical Superintendent of the Hospital, Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP, Ganesh Karnik, MLC and others were present.
