Mangaluru: Two more test positive for Covid 19; Mugrodi in Shaktinagar sealed

Mangaluru, April 27, 2020: Mugrodi area in Shaktinagar has been sealed after a mother and son from the area have tested positive for Covid-19 on April 27, Monday. The woman is 80 years of age while her son is 45 years old.

 

Incidentally, the latest Coronavirus patient, the 80 year old woman was being treated in the room next to the P432 - 75 year old woman from Bantwal who died of Coronavirus recently.

All the staff of the hospital are  already quarantined and are tested for Covid-19. Kulashekar is already been demarcated a buffer zone of the containment area due to the death of P-432, Gayathri Nayak, deputy director, district urban development cell said, adding the latest cases will push the buffer zone deeper into the heart of MCC limits. The process of tracing the primary and secondary contacts of the mother and son duo has been initiated, the official said, adding they were in the same shared room as P-432. Incidentally, P-501 one of the three cases to be reported on Sunday, was working as a helper in the same room that P-432 and P-507 were admitted. In a related development, an inter-ministerial central team visited district Wenlock Hospital, the designated Covid-19 hospital for an inspection.

With the latest two cases, the total Corona cases reported from the district has risen to 21.  So  far 12 Corona patients have been cured and discharged.
