Mangaluru, July 15, 2015:  The Department of Kannada and Culture in association with the Tulu, Konkani and Beary Sahitya Academies will be organising a two day state level conference named ‘Sangama-Sambhrama 2015’ on July 25 and 26 at the Cha Fra D’Costa Sangama Kshetra, Dr Shivaram Karanth Pilikula Nisargadhama, Vamanjoor in the city. The theme of the event is ’Modern day crisis - Cultural response.’

 

 

 

This was informed to reporters here on July 15 Wednesday by  Roy Castelino, BA Mohammad Haneef and Janaki Brahmavar, Presidents of Konkani, Beary and Tulu Academies respectively.

The speakers informed that the main objective of the conference was to promote  the art, literature, culture and language of the land.

Cultural troupes from various parts of the state will participate in an attractive cultural procession which will be taken out from Vamanjoor Junction to the programme venue on the inaugural day at 9.30 am, informed Roy Castelino.

As many as  65 scholars from across the state will participate in the conference which will be graced by the Kannada and Culture Minister Umashree, they stated.

A variety of cultural events including classical music by students of Karnataka Sangeeta Nritya Academy, Dollina Pada by Karnataka Folk Academy apart from plays will be staged.

Prior to the event, several programmes like painting and sculpture  camps, Tulu Isiri,  Konkani Sambhram and Pernal Sandhola will be organised.  Food stalls will be an added attraction of the events, they informed.

 Chandrahas Rai, B Devadas Pai and Umarabba, Registrars of Tulu, Konkani and Beary Academies respectively were also present.
