Mangaluru, March 31, 2016: Tulu movie buffs are in for a new treat as Rambarooti, the latest Tulu flick hits the silver screen on Friday. The movie riding under the banner of Opera Dream Movies, is produced by Prakash Kabettu and Shrinivas Ujire and directed by Prajwal Kumar Attavar. He has also contributed the story, screenplay, and dialogue.
A distinguishing feature of the movie is its all new, fresh cast and crew. While most Tulu movies these days are piggy backing on successful stars and formulas, Rambarooti has dared to experiment with totally fresh, raw talent. As many as 41 actors are debuting in this movie.
The movie’s director Prajwal Kumar comes from a background of making short films, music videos and telefilms. The lead actor is VJ Vineet while Shruthi Kotian and Chirashree Anchan play the female leads.
Sandesh Shetty has an important roles, while Shabareesh Kabbinale has the tough task of delivering comic relief. Harish Shetty and Sanil Guru are onto villainous stuff.
Location shooting for the film took place at various places in Mangaluru, Kalasa, Hebri, Karkala and few other places.
Music plays a central role in this movie and it even features Tulu cinema’s first ever rap song `Enchi saavya….’ composed and sung by Soumesh Bangera. The film has six songs composed by Loy Valentine and they have already evoked good response on being released in advance on You Tube. `Bala Bala Gobbuga Nama Lagori’ is a favourites of the masses.
Playback music has been scored by Sunad Goutham. Director Prajwal too has contributed lyrics for four songs. The main playback singers are Deepak Kodikal, Avinash Poojary, Loy Valentine, Melwyn Antony D’Souza, Savitha Puttur and Sherivn Ammanna.
Yet another first for this movie is the use of ‘Muthay’ a Thai marshal art, which been adapted for the movie to great effect by Karthik Kateel. The film features some spectacular bike stunts too.
Cinematography was done by Prasad Kumar Karkala and edited by Kishan Naik. However the songs were picturised and edited by Prateek Shetty. Vivek Gowda is the assistant director, Prabha Shrinivas is the executive producer. Navin Shetty and Avinash Poojary were the choreographers the songs. Publicity was designed by Shrikanth Devadiga.

The movie will be screened at 13 theatres across DK-Udupi districts. In Mangaluru, the movie will be screened at all three multiplexes - Big Cinemas, PVR and Cine Polis – along with shows at Prabhat Talkies on K.S. Road Road. The screens in other towns of the region are: Kalpana (Udupi), Inox (Manipal), Radhika (Karkala), Amarashri (Moodabidre), Natraj (Surathkal), Nakshatra (BC Road), Bharat (Belthangady), Aruna (Puttur) and Santosh (Sullia).
