Mangaluru, Feb 4, 2017: It is reported that Southern Railway’s Palakkad division will install 18 fixed and 6 VTZ CCTV cameras at Mangaluru Railway junction located in Kankanady soon. Palakkad railway division has received Rs 7.91 crore under Nirbhaya Fund and an amount of the fund received will be utilized to install 344 CCTV cameras at 13 railway stations come under Palakkad division.
Mangaluru junction is the only major railway junction in Dakshina Kannada which lacks facilities like CCTV camera, metal detector, bag scanner and others. Having three platforms, the junction caters the needs of thousands of passengers every day as major trains pass through it.
