Mangaluru : Prostitution racket busted; 3 arrested from house at Marnamikatte

Mangaluru, May 18, 2015 : Pandeshwar Police have busted a prostitution racket during a raid on a house near Marnamikatte on the night of May 16, Saturday.

Three persons were arrested during the raid and a cash of Rs 14,920 was seized from them apart from three mobile phones, few condoms, visiting cards and a motor bike. The value of the total seized goods including cash has been put at Rs 48,920.

Those arrested PK Mubasheer (20) of Ambikanagar Muragudde, Chandrashekhar alias Chandu (33) of Neerapade in Baltila village and Anwar T (28) of Kallikote in Kerala.

It is learnt, Chandrashekhar operated the prostitution racket, while the other two arrested were customers. Police said Chandrashekhar had taken the house on rent and used to lure young women of cash and push them into sex trade.

The raid led by Pandeshwar Inspector Dinaker Shetty followed a tip off.

Further investigations are in progress.
