Mangaluru: Notorious vehicle thief now in police net

Mangalore: September 5, 2015: One of the most wanted vehicle thief is now in Police custody. The accused Munir Ahmed alias Goods Munir, in his fifties is a resident of Balikashrama road in Kankanady. He was arrested by the CCB police on Thursday.

On September 4, when the CCB police inspector Valentine D’souza was on Patrol Duty, he came across Muneer who was riding Honda Activa.

When the police stopped his vehicle and questioned him, he confessed to the crime and said that the activa which he was riding had been stolen by him. He said he stole the vehicle from Azizuddin Road, in Bunder and was moving about in the vehicle to change the number plate.

The police seized the Honda Activa and arrested him.

It is learnt that the accused has been involved in more than 50 theft cases. He was also involved in communal violence cases
