Mangaluru : New Gurupur Bridge inaugurated

Mangaluru, June 12, 2020: The newly constructed Gurupur bridge across river Phalguni was inaugurated by Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel on July 12, Friday, along with DK District in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary and Mangaluru North MLA Dr Y Bharath Shetty. The bridge has been completed in a record time well ahead of schedule.

In his address, Srinivas Poojari expressed his happiness over the fact that the bridge has been completed within 16 months.

In his address, MP Nalin lauded the Mugrody Constructions for its efforts in completing the bridge works well ahead of schedule .

The foundation stone for the bridge was laid in February 2019 and it was supposed to be completed by February 2021. The bridge constructed at a cost of Rs 39.42 crores is 16 meters wide and 175 meters long.

It may be mentioned here that the old Gurupur bridge was built way back in 1923.
