Mangaluru, July 27, 2017: Nagabanas as well as shrines dedicated to serpent God and Lord Subrahmanya are flocked by devotees today, July 27, Thursday on the auspicious day of Nagara Panchami, to offer prayers to the Serpent God and seek his blessings.
Famous temples like Kudupu Sri Anantha Padmanabha Temple and Kukke Sri Subrahmanya Temple are seeing a huge number of devotees who are arriving to offer special prayers on this day.
Various rituals like Naga Thambila are also offered in Naga shrines as well as Moolasthanas by the devotees.
The Nagara Panchami day falls on the fifth day (Panchami) of the month of Shravana as per the Hindu calendar.
On this day as is the tradition, Serpent God is worshipped by offering him milk, ghee, tender coconut, honey.
