Mangaluru, Jan 06, 2016: Matha Amritanandamayi Devi who is popular as Amma among her followers and is famous as the Hugging Saint, will be visiting Amrita Vidyalayam grounds near Sultan Bathery Boloor on January 9 and 10. Brahmasthana Mahotsava and Amritasangama 2016 are also scheduled to be held in the presence of Amma.
Informing this to reporters at Amrita Vidyalayam here on January 6, Wednesday, Dr Jeevaraj Sorake, Honorary President of the Matha Amritanandamayi Seva Samithi said various rituals like Udayaasthamana Pooja,Lalitha Sahasranama Archane, Rahudosha and Shanidosha Nivaarana Poojas will be held on both the days from 7 am. There will also be discourse, bhajans and blessings by Matha Amritanandamayi, Dr Sorake said.
Brahmachari Krishna who also spoke said tokens will be issued to the devotees for Darshan, while time cards will be issued to early comers. These cards will be later replaced by Darshan coupons once Matha Amritanandamayi arrives. Those wishing to have Darshan of Amma and secure her blessings need to be present during the Sankalpa by Amma to reap full benefits.
There will also be Anna Santharpane for the devotees. Free medical aid will be available at the Amrita Medical clinic at the venue. It was also informed that bus arrangements have also been made for devotees from far off places to reach railway stations, bus stands and other important junctions after the programme.
Shruthi Hegde, President of the Seva Samithi, Vaman Kamath, and Dr Sanath Hegde were present.
"Amma" the word symbolises love affection caring and a journey to right path.
