Mangaluru: June 26, 2015: The Kavoor police on Thursday arrested a man and his girlfriend for allegedly incarcerating wife of the former in a closed room deriving pleasure out of torturing her mentally and physically.

The accused has been identified as Ganpat (26) from Rajasthan and his girlfriend Sumitra for involving in the act.

Ganpat had married to Swapna about 9 years ago in Rajasthan. He left her at his native place and started his business in Mangaluru near Kuntikan Junction. He owned a shop which deals with stationery items, mobile phone spare parts.

He was living with a woman called as Sumitra at his residence here in Mangaluru and they started developing a close relationship.

His wife Swapna came to Mangaluru on March 2015, and Ganapat and Sumitra had dispute with her. Ganapat and Sumitra incarcerated her in a dark room and allegedly tortured without proving any food.

The police team raided the spot and arrested the accused.
