Mangaluru, Dec 29, 2023: The Mangaluru Kambala which is being organized for the seventh year will be held at Gold Finch City at Bangrakulur on December 30, informed Kambala Samithi President Brijesh Chowta.

Speaking to reporters, he said the Kambala will be inaugurated by Basavamurthi Madara Chennayya Swamiji of Madara Chennayya Gurupeetha of Chitradurga. Tukaram Poojary, President of Rani Abbakka Adhyayana Kendra, Bantwal will preside over the function. The function will be graced by K Chittaranjan, President of Kankanady Brahma Baidarkala Garadi, Jithakamananda Swami of Ramakrishna Mutt and Rajashekharananda Swamiji of Vajradehi Mutt.

Over 150 pairs of buffaloes are expected to participate in the event, he said adding all arrangements are made for the spectators and also for vehicle parking.

Kambala Committee Vice President Eshwar Prasad Shetty said as part of Kambala a ColourKoota painting contest will be held and added that those below 10 years can take part in Rangda Elya while the 10-15 year category can take part in Rangda Malya contest.

There is no age restriction in Rangda Koota. Photography contest and reels contest will be held. Reels can be shared on Instagram with a hashtag #mangalurukambala7, he informed.

The valedictory function will be graced by Speaker U T Khader, BJP Yuva Morcha National President Tejaswi Soorya, MRG Group Chairman K Prakash Shetty, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and legislators of DK and Udupi districts.
