Mangaluru: Illegal abattoir near Ullal raided; accused give cops a slip

Mangaluru, Apr 12, 2015: Seven live cattle and 4 slaughtered  animals were recovered from an illegal slaughter house at Chembugudde near Ullal which was raided by the police on April 12, Sunday. Four men who were in the illegal abattoir managed to flee during the raid.

 

Police sources said the raid followed a tip off. It is learnt, two of the accused were cutting the meat while the other two were getting ready to deliver it to someone by scooter. The accused abandoned the scooter  and fled the place as soon as they saw the cops.

Two of the accused have been identified as MC Bava and his brother MC Khader.

Ironically, the very same illegal abattoir was raided by cops in November 2014. The police had then arrested  four persons and seized 100 kg of meat. The foursome who got bail in the case had  again indulged in the illegal act.
