Mangaluru: Hundreds take part in bike rally to promote safe riding

Mangaluru, Jan 26, 2015: A bike rally with the theme “Riders for Helmets” aimed at promoting safe riding by wearing helmets  was taken out  from Nehru Maidan to Ladyhill Circle in the city on January 25, Sunday.

The rally was organised by the DK District Administration, City Traffic Police and Transport Department as part of 26th National Road Safety Week.  N Vishnuvardhan, DCP(Crime and Traffic) flagged off the rally which was organised in collaboration with Rev Limiterz and Centre for Health and Development, Mangaluru.

The Road Safety Pledge was administered to the rallyists by RJ Errol. Uday Nayak, ACP, GS Hegde, Assistant Regional Transport Officer  and others were present.

 Several biking groups including members of Naked Wolves Rev Limiterz and CHD participated in the rally which passed through Bunts Hostel and Lalbagh.

All the participant bikers pledged to ensure safe riding by adhering to traffic rules  in order to avert accidents. There was also an interaction between the participants and the traffic and RTO officials.
