Mangaluru, Jan 12, 2016 : On the occasion of the 153rd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, JR Lobo, MLA of Mangaluru South laid the foundation for a mini park at Bejai in the city on January 12, Tuesday. The chief guests as well as a number of school children who were present on the occasion offered floral tributes to the portrait of Swami Vivekananda.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Lobo exhorted students to emulate the ideals propagated by Swami Vivekananda and also to derive inspiration from his life and achievements. He also extended his gratitude to Lakshmish Bhandari of Bhandary Builders for offering to develop the mini park.
Dharmavrithananda Swamiji of Ramakrishna Mission, Mahabala Maarla, Shashidhar Hegde, former mayors, Lancelot Pinto, Kavitha Sanil, Prakash Salian, Corporators and others were present.
