Mangaluru : Fire destroys house at Vamanjoor

Mangaluru, Aug 21, 2015: A house at Amritnagar near Vamanjoor was completely gutted in a fire mishap in the wee hours of August 21, Friday.

The house belonged to a woman named Koosamma. Luckily, there were no casualties as the occupant of the house Koosamma was away at the beedi branch. By the time neighbours noticed thick smoke billowing out of the house and informed the fire service personnel, the fire had almost damaged the house completely. Moreover the area where the house is located was inaccessible to the fire tender vehicles as there were over a hundred houses in the area and the roads were also narrow.

It is said by the time the fire tender vehicle somehow managed to reach the spot through a round about route, the fire had taken toll on the entire house.
