Mangaluru, May 02, 2020: Panambur Police have on Friday arrested two persons who were wanted in connection with the kidnapping of two girls. The two were hiding near Adyapady when they were trapped.
The arrested are Hanumanth (23) and Madesh (22), both residents of Thokur. They however hail from north Karnataka region. It is learnt the duo had kidnapped two girls of north Karnataka origin of whom one was a school going girl. It is learnt the two had pressurised the families of the girls to get them married. However when the families refused they had eloped with the girls from Thokur on April 28.
A complaint was lodged in Panambur police station as the girls were minors. All the four were found in a hilly area in Adyapady. Locals who noticed them had informed the police who arrested the accused and rescued the girls.
Of the two accused one was a carpenter and another a labourer.
