Mangaluru: Cops lathi charge group which protested defying prohibitory orders

Mangaluru, Dec 19, 2019: Police lathi charged a group which had gathered near the State Bank area on December 19, Thursday to stage a protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act and began shouting slogans defying the prohibitory orders. Several of the protestors were also detained by the police.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The SKSSF which had earlier called for a protest in front of the DC office today had however postponed the protest in the wake of police imposing Section 144. But still many had gathered   as messages regarding the protest had already been circulated on WhatsApp.

When the group resorted to sloganeering the police lath charged and dispersed the crowd.
