Mangaluru: September 10, 2015: The police on Wednesday arrested a youth for confronting and harassing a male student and two female students so called moral policing outside the Mall.
The police arrested Mansoor (35) from Natekal who works at the Mall.
Sources reveal that Mansoor was one among five persons who confronted Arjun, a student from Kerala and two female students including a Muslim woman.
The police have registered a case under section 143 (being member of unlawful assembly), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint), 149(offence committed by unlawful assembly), 504 (insult intended to provoke breach of peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC.
It is learnt that Mansoor was out on a bail since the offences were bailable.
The students were unwilling to register a case against the accused, the police team met the parents of the boy on Wednesday after which, the boy registered a case against five persons.
According to the sources the police have collected the photographs and the CCTV footage of the incident. They are now searching for the other accused.
