The bikers namely Nikhil Shetty and Shanmuga of Attavar who were thrown off guard on to the road have sustained injuries. The accused who were in the car have been identified as Choni Someshwar, Shailu Bajilakeri and Raghul Ullal.  Bunder Police are investigating the case.

Of the two injured Nikhil is a II PUC student.  The two had been to the District Court  to enquire about some case pertaining to Kaushik which was scheduled for hearing that day. However, when they realised that the hearing has been postponed they were returning to Attavar when the attack took place. It is said  as soon as they fell on to the road those in the  car began to wield their sword which  however slipped thus helping  the two save their lives.

Though large number of people gathered, the accused reportedly escaped from the spot.

The suspicion is that the accused and  Kaushik were not in good terms and reportedly attacked the two bikers who were seen in the company of Kaushik in the court complex.

Further investigations are underway.
