Mangaluru, May 19, 2016: The voluntary bundh being observed in the city and the district on May 19, Thursday as per the call given by various anti-Yettinahole organisations, has been peaceful so far barring a couple of stoning incidents.
A Volvo bus of the KSRTC which was operating between Tirupathi and Mangaluru via Bengaluru was stoned by some miscerants near the Ambedkar Circle during the early hours of Thursday.

Tyres were found burnt on the road at Pumpwell while in Belthangady a car too was burnt, though it is not yet sure whether the second incident had anything to do with the bundh.
With city buses too remaining off the roads in support of the bundh, traffic is minimal on the city roads and most shops and business establishments have downed shutters except some milk booths.
Bhajrangdal activists are protesting right on the road at Nantur opposing the project. Police have maintained a strict vigil to avert any untoward incident.
