Mangaluru, September 1, 2018: The Mangaluru Branch of India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) was inaugurated at a ceremony held at Town Hall here on September 1, Saturday by Union Minister for Statistics and Programme Implementation D V Sadananda Gowda.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said nearly three lakh Dak Sevaks will be trained for the purpose of this payment bank which have over one lakh access points within the next six months.
The India Post Payments Bank will offer a host of products including savings and current accounts, money transfers, bill and utility payments and direct benefit transfers, he informed.
A special cover on Indian Post Payment Bank was also released by the Minister.
Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA Vedavyas Kamath were present among others.
