Mangaluru, May 15, 2016: Bishop Rev Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza of Mangaluru, will be completing 20 years as the Bishop, a day will be marked at his historic seat of office, Rosario Catheral today May 15, Sunday. Arch Bishop of Bengaluru Rev Dr Bernard Moras will be the chief guest.
Born on June 21, 1941 at Ferla Parish of Bantwal, he was ordained a priest on December 3, 1966.
Consecrated as Bishop of Mangalore Diocese on May 15, 1996, he started his career with the slogan "Unblemished Love of Jesus Christ".
He has been Secretary to former Bishop Rt Rev Basil D’Souza, Chancellor of Diocese Ecclesiastical Tribunal Head of Diocese, Parish Priest of Church and Rector of Jeppu St Joseph Seminary. Establishing Fr Muller Medical College at Kankanady and St Joseph Engineering College at Vamanjoor are the two important projects initiated by him.
Bishop Aloysius will complete 75 years on June 21, 2016 and the platinum jubilee celebrations are set to be held with a public function.
