Mangaluru: September 15, 2015: Three motorcycle-borne persons took away a bag containing money and cheques from an employee of a building firm near Bendoor Art Culture Circle on Monday.

According to Mangaluru East police, Shivanna, a peon with Space Builders, left the office with Rs. 27,100 in cash and 10 cheques that were to be deposited in an account of the firm at a branch of Corporation Bank.

Shivanna got into an autorickshaw. As the autorickshaw stopped near the traffic signal at the circle, three unknown persons on a motorcycle stopped next to the vehicle.

As the signal turned green, the pillion rider on the motorcycle snatched the bag. When Shivanna screamed, the autorickshaw driver turned and caught hold of the shirt of one of the men and all the three fell off the motorcycle. They managed to run away with the bag. The vehicle, registered in Udupi, was abandoned.
