Mangaluru, Jan 14, 2015: The new branch of Bharatiya Mahila Bank at Bejai in the city was inaugurated on January 13, Tuesday by DK Zilla Panchayat CEO Tulasi Maddineni. This is the second branch of the bank in Karnataka.
In her address, Tulasi Maddineni wished all success for the new branch and hoped the Mahila Bank would open more branches in the region.
SM Swathi,Executive Director of the Bank explained about the objectives and various schemes of the bank. She said the Bank which was founded in 2012 as a Government of India Enterprises, presently has 39 branches and that the branch in Mangaluru is its 40th branch. She said as on December 2014, the Bank has done a total business of Rs 930 crore including Rs 320 crore advances and Rs 610 crore deposit. She further informed that the Bank targets to open 40 branches by March 2015 of which 20 branches would be in rural areas.
The Bank has CBS and ATM facility as well internet banking and other modern banking facilities, she informed.
Amarlal Daultani, Executive Director of Corporation Bank was present as chief guest among others. Five new customers were handed over debit card and cheque book kit and one customer was given loan provision letter symbolically.
Maya, DGM of the Bank, Savan Prakash, Branch Manager and others were present.
